These bowls are hand-carved in Mexico. 

These bowls are made with a casual, rustic look in mind. Therefore, each bowl has marked from the hand carving process which may include knot holes, scratches, knife marks, saw blade marks, or minor cracks.

This is part of the character of each, unique piece and is not considered a defect.
