I'm a farm girl, homebody, and great lover of all things interior design. My passion for design started at a young age. By the age of 13 I was doing graphic design online... and getting paid for it.
When we moved into this house, it had been a loooong time since anyone had done any kind of updates here. I'm talking no light switches, no three prong outlets, no insulation, and lots and lots of wallpaper.
I started getting to work renovating this historic old farmhouse. As friends and family started to come over and see the improvements, I started getting asked to help other people with their design projects.
Before I knew it I was giving advice on picking out paint colors, selecting rugs and furniture, consulting on renovations, and having a blast doing it!
I loved helping people find clarity in their design and turn their homes into spaces that were magazine-worthy.
However... I get knots in my stomach thinking about some of the practices that go into producing modern retail. I think about exploited workers around the world that mass produce home decor that the big retailers sell.
On top of that, the quality is usually... subpar. Finding good quality these days is so hard. Am I right?
